The Publicity Works will be closing for the holiday season mid-afternoon on Tuesday December 23rd. We will reopen on Monday January 5th, batteries fully charged and running at full speed.
We’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a better New Year than you ever hoped for.
‘So how are you today?’ These five words really get my goat, usually chirpily intoned after ‘Hello, my name is Dave from Global International Corp’ or some such. Wouldn’t it be great if these guys dropped the insincerity and went straight for the sale? How about a National No ‘How Are You Today’ Day? The rules are simple: as soon as you hear the words, you put the phone down. Unless you know the person, I suppose. But even then….
The weakness here is the standard rock music soundtrack, instead of talking about his work. Words win over music almost every time. How did he come to take the photos? You can tell a story with words.
2: Jason Polan, who is willing to make art for you by the hour ($125) or the day ($1,000) - from New York.
I particularly like the ‘Deluxe’ all-you-can-eat-in-a-day deal:
One Day of Art
I will make what I can in one day and then I will send it to you. You will receive all of the work that I can produce in a period of 24 hours. I will sleep and eat during this time, but other than that, the day will be devoted to producing work for you. …
$1,000
He doesn’t say if you’ll own the copyright, but you’d best insist. Who knows what it might be worth in reproduction rights in a hundred years.
